It was November 2019 whien I hiked up to the Orroral Geodetic Observatory - roughly two months later the entire park was devastated by the 2020 bushfires which burnt out roughly 80% of the reserve.
It was a hard slog up the very steep 4.3km track to the top which is almost twice as high as walking up Mount Ainslie but the views across the valley floor below were worth it. In this aerial photo you can make out the old Orroral tracking station and even the historic Orroral homestead
This print also hangs proudly in the historic Ready-Cut Cottage situated in the Namadgi's Gudgenby Valley
