In the last month of winter the full moon sets behind Mount Stromlo Observatory in Canberra. A dusting of snow can be seen on the Brindabella Ranges. As the moon was setting the sun was about to come up behind me that lent its soft light to the scene. The 1920s heritage listed main dome at Mount Stromlo was destroyed in the 2003 bushfires that ravaged parts of Canberra in that awful summer.
